Homeobox Genes (HOX)

Homeobox Genes (HOX) – A group of genes, playing a critical role in embryonic development and cell differentiation. HOX genes are master regulators of morphogenesis and cell differentiation and in maintenance of adult cellular identity. Epigenetic modifications as hypermethylation are frequently found to dysregulate HOX genes in a long range of cancers.
